Our Day at Footsteps

A Day Of Discovery & Learning..

Footsteps Room (Over two)

At Footsteps, children are given time to explore the natural environment. Learning alongside friends and building relationships with other children and teachers.

We have rolling morning and afternoon tea to encourage free play and independence.

At 11.15am everyday we join together for group time where we share interactive stories from the Bible.

We gather together for lunch as a time to share and unite before heading back to form more connections through free play and exploration.

Our day is relaxed and peaceful with plenty of freedom to make great memories.

Firststeps Room (Under two)

Our Firststeps room is designed especially for our younger tamariki. The natural environment provides opportunity for tamariki to explore safely as they are able to move freely and independently.

We believe relationships between peers and teachers is fundamental for their sense of belonging and wellbeing.

We support individual children's rhythms and routines by connecting with their whanau and reflecting their home life while here at Footsteps.

We acknowledge that parents are the first teachers so we follow their aspirations and desires for each individual child.

Four Year Old Programme

Blast off Routine

At 11am on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, our four year olds have the opportunity to participate in our Blast off programme.

In small groups, all the older tamariki have turns at heading over to the school with a teacher to explore the Biblical curriculum on a deeper level.  Reading their names from the roll, lining up in pairs and walking over to the school are just as important as the lesson itself!

Joining our Blast off crew is a real highlight for the children when they turn four. Learning in a school environment through an early childhood perspective is an opportunity we are so proud to offer at Footsteps.
